Ahead of the WEX Global Bioeconomy Summit, we asked our speakers to share their perspectives on the opportunities, challenges and innovations shaping the global bioeconomy.
Climate stress is escalating effecting water and soil. A receipt for depleting groundwater and shrinking biomass is circular economy for water cycles and biological cycles.
Both fields are key to global environmental targets, balancing the need for circular economy, food security, and industrial transformation.
Transforming treatment plants from costly disposal sites into water as a resource. This transformation towards clean water, renewable energy (e.g. biogas), and agricultural nutrients (e.g. phosphorus) creating a circular economy.
Within a circular context we talk about a “network of trust”, this is exactly what I am hoping to extend further.
