The WEX Global Bioconomy Summit
A new WEX Global event
Watch WEX Global 2026 highlights
We are excited to announce the launch of The WEX Global Bioeconomy Summit (WEX-BIO) which is taking place in Lisbon, Portugal from 2-4 November 2026.
WEX-BIO is a global meeting point for the bioresources economy — focused on how organic waste streams, including biosolids, food waste, industrial by-products and agricultural residues, can be transformed into valuable resources.
At the heart of this transition is the water and wastewater sector.
As utilities evolve into urban bio-refineries, they are unlocking new opportunities to convert waste into energy, nutrients, bio-based materials and reclaimed water — helping to build a circular, low-carbon economy that connects cities, industries and agriculture.
However, challenges remain.
Regulatory frameworks vary across regions, many innovations struggle to scale, and collaboration between sectors is still developing.
WEXBIO is designed to address this.
The summit will bring together leaders from water, agriculture, energy, industry and finance to build partnerships, share knowledge and accelerate the shift from waste management to resource optimisation.
