1. Why is now such an important moment for the water and bioeconomy sectors?

For me, it really comes down to the growing pressure around biosolids. They are becoming more expensive to treat and dispose of, the rules are getting stricter, and plants are expected to do more with what they already have. So we need practical ways to improve existing systems now, while gradually moving toward a more circular model.

2. What is the biggest opportunity in wastewater and resource recovery?

I think the biggest opportunity is to change how we look at biosolids. Instead of seeing them only as a problem we need to get rid of, we should look at how much value we can recover from them. By improving the biology, plants can produce less sludge, run more steadily, generate more biogas, and get more value from the same organic material. The best part is that this often doesn’t require new tanks or major construction or any additional CAPEX. It is about getting more from the existing inputs and equipment already in place.

3. Who are you hoping to connect with at the WEX Global Bioeconomy Summit?

I want to meet people who deal with these problems every day, utility leaders, plant operators, engineers, and technology partners. I’d like to hear what they are struggling with, what they have already tried, what worked, and what didn’t. Those are the conversations where we can really understand whether Drylet’s biological solutions could help.
